Our Experience

Maharishi University of Management (MUM)  College of Business has garnered a USDA Rural Business Development grant to offer free seminars and workshops for anyone in Jefferson County.  We are here to help you fulfill your dreams. 

Our Approach

We offer free seminars as lunch and learn meetings as well as four-part workshops that give you valuable insights into being a successful business person through the accumulated insight of our outstanding faculty.

Business mentors are key—that’s why we offer one-on-one coaching either through our faculty or through our connection with business leaders in town and our affiliation with SCORE,  an organization of successful executives nationwide.

Effective Marketing Execution

This series of four one-hour presentations are aimed at growing the marketing knowledge and skills of small businesses. Each of the session will include an exercise to build your own skills.

Talk 1 March 2– Branding –  Branding is the art and science of building a unique and productive relationship with the consumer. This session will cover the many goals, strategies and pitfalls of branding, along with examples and a hands-on exercise.

Talk 2 – March 9 – Pricing – This is the art of returning value to the producer or seller. This session will cover the many pricing objectives, strategies, and tips, along with examples and a hands-on exercise.

Talk 3 – March 16 Segmentation – This is the art and science of slicing the market and then selecting the segments where one’s business is most like to succeed. This session will cover the objectives and techniques of market segmentation, along with examples and a hands-on exercise.

Talk 4 – March 23 – Digital Marketing – This is the art and science of promoting and selling online, and much more. This talk will cover the strategies and practices of digital marketing including on social media, along with examples and a hands-on exercise.
